You asked for a Not Research (NR) / Not Human Subjects Research (NHSR) Self-Certification Tool. The IRB Office is piloting a new Tool for this purpose.  If you have an upcoming project that you believe does not meet the federal definition of “research” or does not involve “human subjects” (see HRP-310 – WORKSHEET – Human Research Determinations) and you would like to participate in our pilot, please email the IRB Directors at IRBdirector@hsirb.wisc.edu for access to the Tool.   

This self-certification tool is in addition to our existing QI/Program Evaluation Self-Certification Tool. You should continue to use the QI/Program Evaluation Self-Certification Tool for those projects.
